MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- White Oak Security, a provider of high-end information security consulting services, announced today that it is incorporating STEM (Systematic Threat Evaluation Methodology) into its Network and Web Application testing engagements. STEM adds additional testing phases and insights into the already in-depth, standards-based testing methodology used by White Oak Security.
Developed and performed exclusively by White Oak Security, STEM takes the standard PTES and OWASP-based comprehensive testing methodologies a step further to provide direct insight into the effectiveness of a client's existing security investments. Since information security risk is extremely variable and determined by many factors, STEM can uncover flaws in technical controls beyond the standard testing performed by other external testing partners.
"The inclusion of the STEM approach allows White Oak to provide much more insightful results to our clients," says Christopher Emerson, founder and CEO of White Oak Security. "Our clients can more effectively and efficiently address security vulnerabilities based on priorities that closely align with reality."
Emerson will be addressing the topics of information security vulnerabilities, penetration testing and the use of STEM in his presentation, "Forward Looking View of Cyber Risk," at the Cyber Security Summit in Minneapolis on October 29, 2019.
