Wilkes County Native Honored with Distinguished Humanitarian Award at Window World's Annual Conference
NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C., Sept. 12, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Window World, America's largest replacement window and remodeling company headquartered in Wilkes County, is celebrating local leader Devin Lyall with the 2022 Todd Whitworth Distinguished Humanitarian Award.
With owners of the more than 200 local franchises across the country in attendance in Phoenix, Ariz., Window World Chairman and CEO Tammy Whitworth announced Lyall as the winner thanks to her commitment to works in the community through Wilkes Recovery Revolution.
"I'm so thrilled to receive this recognition, personally and on behalf of Wilkes Recovery Revolution," Lyall said . "We were treated to an amazing week with the Window World family, and I could not be more humbled to be a part of this event. This award will forever hold a special place in my heart!"
Lyall attended the 2022 Family Reunion and received a custom crystal award after franchise owners learned more about her background and her recent work. She accepted the award with a heartfelt address which was met by a standing ovation from the 1,400 attendees. Wilkes Recovery Revolution aims to create a supportive community to help individuals recover from addiction. The organization opened the first transitional housing facility in the county less than a decade ago, and has already become an invaluable addition to the community.
The Todd Whitworth Distinguished Humanitarian Award was created to honor Todd's commitment to giving back and making the world a better place. The primary criteria for the award is that the recipient makes a positive difference in the lives of others through service and raises awareness about important causes.
"Devin's efforts in our community exemplify the commitment to serving a community which this honor represents," said Tammy Whitworth. "Her journey to becoming a community leader with Wilkes Recovery Revolution is one that has inspired our company, and we're so proud to recognize a local Wilkes County leader on the national level for their vital work."
