ATLANTA, October 04, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Women In Technology (WIT), the largest organization committed to empowering and educating women and girls about opportunities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) in Georgia announced today that Lisa Rayam will be the Emcee for the 2019 Women of the Year Awards Gala.
Lisa Rayam, an Emmy® award-winning television and radio journalist, has been named the 2019 WIT Awards Emcee, to participate in this year's event. Rayam is the host and senior producer of WABE's flagship program, Morning Edition. WABE's Morning Edition is one of Atlanta's most listened-to radio programs. It continually ranks in the top ten of Atlanta's morning drive radio shows. A four-hour mix of news, analysis, interviews, commentaries, arts, features and music. Morning Edition is heard Monday through Friday from 6 – 10 a.m.
Many also know Lisa Rayam from her 21 years at Fox 5, where she was a reporter and anchor of the noon and 6 p.m. newscasts. During her tenure there, Lisa developed a reputation as a tenacious, well-connected reporter and trusted anchor.
WIT's annual Women of the Year Awards recognizes and celebrates key women impacting and leading Georgia's STEAM community with roles in Small/Emerging Organizations, Medium/Mid-Size Organizations and Educational Institutions, Large/Enterprise Organizations, and Non-Profit Organizations. Additionally, during the event, one special middle or high school girl will be recognized as Girl of the Year for her exemplary achievement and dedication to STEAM studies.
