Xenon Partners Announces Acquisition of Scout APM
Xenon Partners, a software-focused technology private equity firm, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Scout APM, a leading provider of Application Performance Management (APM) software. Scout APM helps developers and application administrators gain insight into their software's performance by providing monitoring of key metrics surrounding software and web-application performance.
SAN FRANCISCO and FORT COLLINS, Colo., July 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Application Performance Management market is estimated to total $5.5 billion by 2022 according to Gartner. APM software tracks and observes software and web application performance metrics that enable developers to better anticipate and efficiently resolve application performance issues. Performance metrics such as the number of transactions processed by an application and response time to process such transactions are monitored. Scout APM products determine baseline performance metrics and offer users a graphical interface which visualizes these metrics for a complete, big-picture view of their software's performance. With insight into performance issues, software developers can effectively improve their software or application's user experience.
"The Scout team have been thought-leaders in the developer market for more than 10 years. We were impressed with the company's organic growth to date and look forward to partnering with the team moving forward," says Jonathan Siegel, General Partner at Xenon Partners. "We have found in Scout a great product and scalable technology that was previously not well known in the APM user community--we now have an opportunity to change that."
Multiple trends have contributed to the growth of the APM market in recent years, such as an increased reliance on big data analytics while companies focus more heavily on automation at a time when cloud computing and storage are becoming increasingly popular. The acquisition of Scout APM represents Xenon Partners' most recent strategic investment, adding to a portfolio of eight current companies.
