16 Million People Accessed Learning Resources Provided By Goodwill Community Foundation
Durham, NC (PRWEB) July 09, 2015 -- More than 16 million people have chosen to learn at GCFLearnFree.org®, GCFAprendeLibre.org®, and GCFaprendeLivre.org during the first half of 2015. The three sites provide no-cost education in a variety of subjects.
This year each site is engaging with more people to help them improve their lives with the addition of new lessons in algebra, GED, SharePoint, Facebook for iPhone, online money tips, and many more topics. The most popular lessons are often in Microsoft Office products like Excel and Word, along with Facebook, Internet Safety, and Computer Basics.
Rev. Dennis McLain, president, GCF® says, "We continue to see growth in the number of learners accessing our free lessons. I believe this directly correlates to the dynamic nature of society today that requires increased aptitude in key areas such as technology and work skills.”
These online learning tools are designed to help anyone with an Internet connection, anywhere, anytime gain the skills needed to improve their life. With options for continuing education credits (CEU), GCFLearnFree®, GCFAprendeLibre®, and GCFAprendeLivre users are able to improve their skills and position themselves for success in the 21st century work force.
“We are constantly developing new, more interactive tools to meet the changing needs of learners,” adds McLain. “The future of education lies in technology and we will continue to be a pioneer in this area in order to create opportunities for a better life.”
Goodwill Community Foundation® (GCF) funds each of the sites in conjunction with its mission to provide opportunities for a better life. Currently, GCFLEarnFree.org has over 140 topics, 1,395 lessons, 651 videos, 59 interactives and games, and 9 instructor-supported classes.
