2015 Hyundai Genesis Awarded Top Safety Rating
Edmond, OK (PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is much more than just a luxury vehicle. In fact the recipient of IIHS’s Top Safety Pick for 2015, outscoring the competition in the infamously difficult small overlap front crash test and the front crash prevention test.
In addition, the 2015 Genesis also earned high marks in the head restraint assessment, moderate overlap front, side, and roof strength. In all evaluations, the driver’s area was well-maintained, and the recorded injury measures were labeled low-risk.
The dummy's head made excellent contact with the front airbag, which stayed in position during the crash, and the side curtain airbag deployed to protect the head from contact with any side structures. The Genesis received an “exceptional” front crash prevention rating due to its automatic braking capabilities and superlative ability to completely stop before encountering each target.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, to earn Top Safety honors, “a vehicle must earn a good or acceptable rating for small overlap protection, a good rating in the Institute's other four tests, and a basic, advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention.” The Genesis did just that, impressing the evaluators with its roadworthiness.
The 2015 Genesis offers an advanced automatic emergency braking system including cameras and radar sensors for added safety. Also included are nine airbags to aid in the injury protection from multiple angles of the car. With an airbag for the driver’s knees, it’s obvious that the 2015 Hyundai Genesis has thought of everything when it comes to safety.
