38 Colleges, Universities Using CAMS Enterprise Ranked Highly in Washington Monthly 2013 College Guide
St. Louis (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- Three Rivers Systems Inc.’s client roster now boasts two of the highest-rated baccalaureate and liberal arts colleges plus 36 other higher-education institutions coast-to-coast listed in the Washington Monthly 2013 College Guide and Rankings.
Providers of Web-based CAMS® Enterprise, the innovative, integrated and intelligent academic ERP academic management system built around a single, secure shared database, Three Rivers Systems serves institutions of all sizes in every major Carnegie classification of higher education.
Members of this “CAMS Community,” as it’s called, singled out in the 2013 college guide include the 17th ranked in the baccalaureate category, Blackburn College, in Carlinville, Ill.; Michigan Jewish Institute, in Detroit, ranked 17 in liberal arts colleges; and Clinton Community College, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., at 49th in community colleges.
Based in Washington, D.C., Washington Monthly is a bimonthly nonprofit magazine covering U.S. politics and government. First published in its September 2006 issue, the magazine’s annual college and university rankings were conceived as an alternative to college guides in U.S. News & World Report and Forbes.
The guide ranks institutions in five categories: National Universities, Master’s Universities, Baccalaureate Colleges, Liberal Arts Colleges and Community Colleges. University of California campuses — San Diego and Riverside — were one-two in the National category, followed by University of Texas, Austin; Case Western Reserve and UC Berkeley, rounding out the top five.
These four-year and graduate institutions are rated by numbers of students receiving Pell grants; predicted graduation rates; research expenditures; Bachelor's to Ph.D. ratios; numbers of Peace Corps volunteers; ROTC membership; Federal work-study funds spent on service; community service participation and hours served; service staff; courses and financial aid support.
Washington Monthly also rates schools based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: Social Mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), Research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and PhDs), and Service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
Amir Tajkarimi, president and founder of Three Rivers Systems Inc., congratulated the listed schools on their achievements. “We feel a deep sense of pride and satisfaction in seeing our clients honored in this significant manner. It’s rewarding to know these schools and our entire CAMS Community of users are leaders in returning investment to the nation,” he said.
