Airforwarders Association Announces Appointment of New Board Member
Amanda Barlow joins AfA Board of Directors for 2021-2024 term
WASHINGTON, Sept. 8, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Airforwarders Association announced today that Amanda Barlow has been appointed to its Board of Directors, bringing the total number of directors to 15. Barlow was officially inducted during an Airforwarders Association board meeting on September 7.
As a member of the Airforwarders Association's Board of Directors, Barlow will take an active role in advocating for the interests of the global transportation community and promoting the interests of the entire freight forwarding industry. She will also be responsible for attending regular meetings, acting on committees within the association, and helping to shape the annual agenda based on legislative and industry priorities.
Barlow brings more than 15 years of experience in international trade and a wealth of experience in the cargo and freight forwarding industries. In her current role as Vice President for Roanoke Trade's Western Region, Barlow manages client relationships, oversees regional operations, and directs sales initiatives to serve the insurance needs of transportation and logistics providers. As a member of seven industry associations and the U.S. Department of Commerce's District Export Council (DEC) of Southern California, a body created to support the U.S. Government's export promotion efforts, she is conscious of the issues that are most important to the Airforwarders Association and its members.
"The Airforwarders Association provides an important voice for the transportation and logistics industries to the decision makers in Washington DC," said Barlow. "I am delighted to join the board and look forward to contributing to the future success of the organization and its members."
"We are excited to welcome Amanda Barlow as the newest member of our Board of Directors," said Brandon Fried, Executive Director of the Airforwarders Association. "In the wake of COVID-19 we have worked tirelessly to advocate for the interests of freight forwarders on Capitol Hill and throughout the regulatory agencies in Washington. As we continue our pursuit of an ambitious agenda, I am confident that Amanda's unique understanding of the risks faced by our membership, enthusiasm for the industry, and perspectives on trade and transportation will be a great asset."
