Bartels’ Harley-Davidson Celebrates 40 Years of Bikes, BBQ's, and Burnouts
MARINA DEL REY, Calif. (PRWEB) July 11, 2023 -- Located in the heart of Marina Del Rey on the iconic Pacific Coast Highway #1, Bartels' Harley-Davidson has become a cherished landmark for Southern California riders over the past four decades. The dealership, which had humble beginnings in Culver City in 1983, has flourished under the leadership of family patriarch Bill Bartels, now 83 years old and still active in the day-to-day business, General Manager Ron Bartels, and family members Nick, Colton, and Glenn Bartels.
The Custom Bike Show showcased over a dozen custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles, spanning various vintages and styles. Enthusiasts and visitors were treated to a day filled with tire-smoking action, delicious BBQ, and the unmistakable rumble of American-made V-Twins. The event featured a "People's Choice" competition, raffles, giveaways, and an engaging pre-show canyon ride hosted by Westside Motorcycle Collective.
Taylor Austin, Sales Representative, and event organizer, expressed excitement over the coinciding anniversaries, stating, "The fact that it's Harley's 120th Anniversary and our 40th anniversary is crazy. Knowing that we have been around for a third of Harley's life is really cool."
The festivities were amplified by Bartels' Service Technician, Matt Swim, who astounded the crowd with his breathtaking wheelie and burnout show on his Dyna. The exhilarating display showcased the spirit of freedom and individuality that Bartels' Harley-Davidson has embraced throughout its history.
Throughout the years, Bartels' Harley-Davidson has attracted not only avid riders but also renowned celebrities from the music and film industries. Icons such as Billy Joel, Billy Idol, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the late Ray Liotta have all sought the thrill of owning a Harley from Bartels'.
The dealership's success can be attributed to its down-to-earth approach and exceptional customer service. Austin emphasized, "A lot of our salesmen keep in contact with their customers and send them texts saying 'hey, what's going on today?' The customers really feel like we can take care of them and are people they can relate to. You know, someone you can go on a ride with."
Bartels' Harley-Davidson continues to be a haven for riders, providing a wide range of motorcycles, accessories, and services. With their unwavering commitment to the Harley-Davidson legacy, the dealership looks forward to many more years of serving the vibrant Southern California riding community.
