Bearizona Introduces All-New "Surprise" Element
Wildlife Park Replaces Scheduled Shows with Surprise, Impromptu Animal Encounters
WILLIAMS, Ariz., July 12, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Get ready for more wild animal encounters: Bearizona, a popular wildlife park devoted to providing homes for wild animals in need, is excited to introduce its all-new "Surprise" element throughout the park's Walk-Thru Fort. Just when you thought you couldn't have any more unexpected animal encounters with free roaming animals at Bearizona, the new impromptu encounters will showcase various amazing species – including both long-time visitor favorites as well as some brand new species to Bearizona - surprising visitors and offering a more interactive experience while exploring the walk-thru section of the park.
With the help from Steve Martin and his company Natural Encounters, Inc, based in Winter Haven, Florida, we are able to introduce this entirely new approach to guest interactions within a zoological theme park, which includes some amazing species of birds from around the world. During a visit at Bearizona this summer, guests may now experience even more animals doing what nature built them to do. Including, but not limited to:
- Livingstone's Turaco, a beautiful and brightly colored rainforest bird, jumping from arm to arm of visitors as they would from tree branch to tree branch
- The Pied Crow picking up plastic bottles and putting them into the recycling bins
- The Trumpeter Hornbill flying dynamically in pairs and catching grapes mid-air
Bearizona is focused on educating people about wild animals and the habitats in which they live. Now with these new encounters we are able to show guests first-hand how incredible each is and hopefully inspire conservation and caring. Additionally, both the Bearizona and NEI team are working hard behind the scenes to increase the quality of care we provide our animals with next level medical training. Our top predators like the bears, wolves and jaguars are learning things like voluntary injections, nail trims and oral exams which help tremendously during routine vet exams.
"We are excited to be taking our guest experience to a new level by working with NEI on random surprise and delight encounters throughout the day," said Bearizona Owner Sean Casey. "This is a new concept in the zoological theme park world and allows the guests to essentially be basically part of the show. NEI is the company that has been doing various shows and consulting contracts worldwide for more than 40 years and we are lucky to be learning from the best."
The inception of these "Surprises" also stems from the prevention of crowding guests into small spaces due to COVID-19. The new element will permanently replace Bearizona's previous scheduled birds of prey shows in the amphitheater. Most encounters will be operated without any scheduling and can appear at the most unexpected times while taking a stroll through the park, but keep a close eye on our brand new Bearizona app for possible clues about upcoming animal interactions.
Bearizona is a 158-acre facility accredited by the Zoological Association of America and is currently home to 39 black bears and many other species of North American wildlife. The drive- and walk-through park's mission is to rescue wild animals in need of new homes and promote conservation by inviting visitors to view wildlife in spacious, natural environments. Since it was founded in 2010, Bearizona has fast-become a must-see attraction when visiting the Grand Canyon's South Rim or driving through Northern Arizona. It was voted among the top three wildlife parks by the annual USA Today Readers' Choice Awards twice in the past three years.
