Benzer Pharmacy Welcomes New Chief Technology/Marketing Officer Meghann Chilcott
Industry veteran, former OrderInsite SVP, and senior IT executive to serve dual-role as CTO/CMO
TAMPA, Fla., Jan. 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Driven by the twin forces of growth and its projected impact on strategic direction at the C-level, Benzer Pharmacy has responded in kind, turning to accomplished retail pharmacy and healthcare technology expert Meghann Chilcott to lead future decision-making efforts as the company's new Chief Technology and Marketing Officer.
In a prolific career spanning more than 20 years—across the healthcare, retail, pharmaceutical and technology industries—Chilcott has established an enviable track record of success, both from the viewpoint of practical, real-world experience, as well as from the advanced perspective of an academic authority.
Regarding the former, at her previous position as Senior Vice President of OrderInsite, a retail drug forecasting service, she played pivotal roles in business development and strategic partnerships, as well as in sales and branding management, among others.
Prior to that, Chilcott held a VP post with Fred's, Inc., a southeastern U.S. chain of discount retail stores, supervising IT and pharmacy systems for approximately 370 pharmacies in 15 states; and also served in several capacities at Navarro Discount Pharmacies in Miami, capping off a productive nine-year tenure with her promotion to Director of Pharmacy Services.
Learning the ins and outs of the business has been essential for Chilcott, as she explained, "I've done a little bit of everything, ranging from spearheading pharmacy operations to building frameworks for healthcare technology and beyond. All of it factors-in to what it takes to become an industry leader."
On the academic side of the ledger, she holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology; and is currently completing studies at Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine in pursuit of a Master's in Biomedical Informatics.
Earning her extra credit, Meghann is also highly skilled with the written word, penning healthcare technology articles published regularly on Forbes as a member of the magazine's technology council. Just as impressively, she's active in online media as a co-host of FutureDose.Tech, a platform for discussion of the latest trends in the industry on the Pharmacy Podcast Network.
As it relates to next steps at Benzer Pharmacy, her vision is undeniably clear: "I believe the company has the agility and nimble positioning necessary to remain at the forefront of the technological transformations that are setting the stage for tomorrow."
No doubt that's going to take some heavy lifting, especially in terms of her stated goals to "streamline operational processes" and develop a "top-notch, personalized patient experience."
Yet, none of it throws Chilcott, who is a ready match for every challenge.
"Unifying technology, marketing and business intelligence will allow our pharmacists to interact with patients in ways never experienced before," she reasoned. "It's a bold new future for the pharmacy industry and I'm truly excited to be part of it." Just as excited, perhaps, as we are to have Meghann part of Benzer Pharmacy.
