Cancer Hope Network Hosts 33rd Chrysalis Gala Saturday, November 10
CHESTER, N.J. (PRWEB) September 28, 2018 -- Cancer Hope Network will host the 33rd Annual Chrysalis Gala, honoring Charles and Randi McGivney and Diane and Tom Bongiorno. The event will be held Saturday, November 10 at The Westminster Hotel (550 W. Mt. Pleasant Ave) in Livingston, NJ and will include a strolling dinner, silent and live auction and dancing.
“This year, we are honored to recognize two couples who have made Cancer Hope Network a family affair,” said Executive Director Wanda Diak. “The McGivneys and Bongiornos have given their hearts, hands and resources to provide support and create hope for people facing cancer.”
Charles and Randi McGivney will receive the Philanthropic Leadership Award, created to recognize individuals and/or companies who have provided extraordinary support to our program over a sustained period of time.
“We first met Chuck and Randi though his father, Chuck McGivney, Sr.,” Diak recalls. “Chuck Senior was trained as a Support Volunteer in 2007 and has been helping ever since, providing comfort to patients and caregivers going through the ordeal of lung cancer diagnosis and treatment. He has had some of the most difficult cases brought to him and he keeps offering to help.”
“It’s easy to see that Chuck follows in his father’s footsteps. He and Randi have such big hearts to recognize that there are many ways to help others facing cancer or other catastrophes. Their efforts on behalf of CHN and through their Nothing Is Impossible Foundation are nothing short of remarkable.”
Diane and Tom Bongiorno will be honored with the Spirit of Hope Award, awarded to a group or individual who has been an extraordinary source of support to Cancer Hope Network.
“Diane has gracefully filled many roles at CHN – dedicated survivor volunteer, Director of Patient Services and Events Manager. Through each of those 18 years, Tom has been by her side, cheering her on, leveraging corporate support and developing innovative ideas in service of people fighting cancer,” Diak says.
