Cognition® Discusses Innovation and Design Controls in Latest White Paper
LEXINGTON, Mass. (PRWEB) October 09, 2018 -- Cognition Corporation®, a software company specializing in medical device compliance and commercialization, has just released a new paper discussing the “collision” between design thinking and design controls in life science product development.
Early-stage design thinking activities are often thought to be separate from design controls and other compliance activities. However, in reality, both aspects of product development influence and overlap with each other. This new white paper explores that relationship in greater depth.
“Innovation in life sciences is a big topic of discussion right now,” says David Cronin, CEO of Cognition Corporation. “As more products become interconnected, digital, and portable, innovation will remain necessary for breakthrough care and competitive edge in the marketplace.”
The new white paper details how and where design controls and design thinking intersect throughout life science product development. With an emphasis on iteration, the paper also explores the benefits this intersection as part of an organization’s overall development process.
“Life science organizations have better control over their product data, to start with,” says Mr. Cronin. “But the paper really discusses how that manifests itself through things like identifying early development issues and managing data transitions, for example.”
In this paper, a handful of design thinking tools are also explored to build a practical understanding of where they overlap with design controls and how both stages of development feed into specific activities.
“All in all, I think life science professionals who read this paper will learn a lot,” says Mr. Cronin, “particularly when it comes to seeing these aspects of development from a different perspective. We hope it helps organizations identify what their current setup looks like between innovation and design controls, and what they can do to start integrating those development stages.”
