Disabled American Veterans To Move North Oak Trafficway Store
The DAV will open the newly relocated store on Vivion and Antioch in Kansas City on October 4th, 2018!
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Sept. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Disabled American Veterans are excited to announce the move of its Red Racks Thrift Store on North Oak Trafficway to the new location at 2425 NE Vivion Rd. on Thursday, October 4th. The new store is located next to Planet Fitness at the Vivion and Antioch intersection.
"Our hope is that this new Red Racks location will become a shopping destination and the community's choice when it comes donating their gently used clothing, furniture and household goods," said CEO Doug DePew. "In turn, this location will provide an even stronger foundation of support for Disabled American Veterans." This store will also be unlike the other Red Racks locations. "This location will feature more of the on-trend, seasonally relevant items than any of our other stores! It will be filled with fashions that are on trend and right with the season," DePew said.
Red Racks Thrift Store provides a meaningful way for members of the community to make a positive difference in the lives of those who served our country proudly. "Red Racks Thrift Stores and the on-site DAV Community Donation Center allows people to share their support for veterans by shopping the store or donating items they no longer need," said DePew. "This new location will allow for easier shopping and donating access, more parking, a cleaner and more organized shopping experience"
The store also has opportunities for local organizations such as schools, churches and civic groups to earn money by hosting a collection drive for clothing, furniture and household items. The groups receive payment for the total pounds collected through their efforts.
The Grand Opening is planned for Thursday, October 4th at 9:00 a.m., with retail operations until 9 p.m. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Donations can be delivered during these hours at the convenient drive-up lane located on the side of the building. For larger items or furniture, donors may schedule a residential or commercial pickup by calling 816-960-4621.
