EBMS Names Chief Medical Officer to Lead miCare, miRx Services
Dr. Andrew Murray joins EBMS, a national leader in innovative healthcare solutions, as Chief Medical Officer and President of miCare and miRx
BILLINGS, Mont., Oct. 8, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Dr. Andrew Murray, an accomplished physician executive with deep industry experience, has been named EBMS's Chief Medical Officer and President of its innovative miCare and miRx healthcare solutions. He joined the EBMS team Oct. 1.
Dr. Murray comes to EBMS from CareAllies, a Cigna-owned Population Health Management startup, where he served as Vice President responsible for Population Health Management and Clinical Services.
At CareAllies, Dr. Murray worked with healthcare providers to ensure their success in value-based arrangements. At Cigna, he has also focused on payer-provider partnerships with hospitals, physician groups and other value-chain partners.
Before joining Cigna, Dr. Murray served in senior leadership roles with Discovery Health, a leading multinational insurance company, as Chief Operating Officer for Ping An Health, and as Deputy General Manager for DiscoveryCare, a managed care organization serving around 3 million members from 12 leading health plan clients.

After completing his medical training at Stellenbosch University's School of Medicine, Dr. Murray practiced medicine in the United Kingdom and South Africa. He subsequently earned his Master in Business Administration with a concentration in Health Sector Management from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in North Carolina.
During his early career practicing medicine, Dr. Murray worked as an emergency-room doctor, served as flight doctor for International SOS and volunteered as a flight doctor for a helicopter ambulance service affiliated with a major trauma center.
Dr. Murray will be a member of the EBMS executive team as a strategic partner offering a medical perspective on plans to expand products and services. Dr. Ragar, miCare Medical Director, will continue to provide medical oversight for miCare working directly with Dr. Murray on strategic business directions. Under Dr. Murray's leadership, the miCare and miRx teams will continue to integrate delivering high-quality, cost-effective care solutions that improve lives through a coordinated approach that also provides innovative cost transparency.
