Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Researcher Receives Prestigious Award From American Diabetes Association
Carol Levy, MD, Director of the Mount Sinai Diabetes Center and type 1 diabetes clinical research, is the recipient of the American Diabetes Association's 2023 Harold Rifkin Hope Award.
NEW YORK, July 18, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Carol Levy, MD, Director of the Mount Sinai Diabetes Center and type 1 diabetes clinical research, is the recipient of the American Diabetes Association's 2023 Harold Rifkin Hope Award for the care of people with Cause of Diabetes.
The award honors those who have demonstrated outstanding research, evaluation, and care in diabetes that has improved patient care and medical practice. The award is among the most prestigious to be presented by the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
Dr. Levy's work as Director of the Artificial Pancreas Research Program has significantly improved the lives of people with diabetes through groundbreaking research and clinical care. The Artificial Pancreas Research Program is a pioneering clinical research program, in collaboration with multiple national and international researchers, studying the efficacy of artificial pancreas systems to improve blood glucose control in patients with type 1 diabetes in an effort to revolutionize the management of the disease.
