JFS Care of Los Angeles Announces New Care Management Services
Non-Profit Care Provider Creates New Services to Help Families Caring for Older Adults
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- JFS Care, a division of Jewish Family Services Los Angeles, has announced the addition of two unique care management offerings to its repertoire of in-home senior care services designed to support older adults and their loved ones. With more family members taking on the roles of care coordinator or caregiver for a senior loved one, the new services, Care Management 2.0: On-Demand Family Support and Traditional Care Management, provide professional care managers to listen, educate, coach, and offer assistance to families caring for seniors.
"We want more families to benefit from the value of care management, so we created two types of care management services," says Steven Barlam, JFS Care CEO. "In addition to traditional care management, we offer an affordable subscription service that matches families with professional care coaches so they can get support in real time, resulting in better elder care experiences for all involved."
On-Demand Family Support is a monthly subscription service available to families and features 75 minutes per month of online or telephone access to a professional care manager, guidance specific to an older loved one's care needs, an optional weekly family caregiver support group, and an online library of senior care resources. The focus is on families and helping them make great decisions.
Traditional Care Management is available on an as-needed basis for an hourly fee and includes in-person consultation with a professional care manager, an assessment of the older adult's home, recommendations for home safety modifications, and implementation and coordination of all needed services with other professionals who are part of an older adult's care team.
JFS Care's care managers are members of the Aging Life Care Association (formerly the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers). Additionally, Barlam served as past president prior to his current role on the association's board of directors.
