Karen has an extensive background in journalism—She began her corporate journalism career in 1996, and then launched a public relations and creative agency headquartered in Silicon Valley in 2000. Her career in the entertainment industry began in 2004 when she was asked to provide public relations consulting for the movie Ray, the American biographical musical drama film focusing on 30 years in the life of rhythm and blues musician Ray Charles.
Karen has worked within a number of industries including entertainment, financial, healthcare, and technology. She is a member, and past board member, of the Public Relations Society of America, and a member of the American Marketing Association. In addition, Karen has served as a publicist for artists and entertainers, and is a member of the Recording Academy – presenters of the GRAMMY Awards.
