Lookout Mountain Incline Railway Closing for Car Replacement
Attraction prepares for 125th year in operation
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., Dec. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Lookout Mountain Incline Railway will be closing at 6 pm on December 29th for seasonal repairs and to replace their passenger cars for new ones. The Incline will reopen in mid March 2020.
"To ensure the utmost in passenger safety, we are proud to be replacing our Incline cars while complying with Federal transportation standards and maintaining safe operating conditions at the great tourist attraction. We are using the winter months which is the Incline's off-peak season to enhance our rider experience. We will reopen in mid-March 2020", said Lisa Maragnano, Executive Director of CARTA.
The Incline Railway is one of Chattanooga's most visited tourist attractions and is celebrating its 125th year of operation in 2020. The Incline Railway is owned by the CARTA, the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority. Updates on the Incline reopening will be available on ridetheincline.com.
