MaintenX International Donates Time and Treasure to Improve Lives of Veterans
TAMPA, Fla. (PRWEB) November 02, 2018 -- Giving back to the community is important to MaintenX. Last week, MaintenX employees returned from their fifth year helping to improve lives with the Building Services and Operations division of the Home Depot Foundation. This year’s Foundation event focused on transforming the Veteran Restoration Quarters and Azalea Community Training Services building in Asheville, N.C.
“At MaintenX, we believe in giving our time and talents back to the community,” said Bill Schaphorst, MaintenX’s VP of Business Development. “It’s always an immensely fulfilling experience to volunteer, and with technicians from coast to coast, we feel a close personal connection with communities all over the United States.”
MaintenX contributed more than $30,000 and, in total, the event raised more than $4.6 million for the Home Depot Foundation. The Foundation helps improve the lives of U.S. veterans and military families, train skilled tradespeople and support communities impacted by natural disasters.
Joining hundreds of other volunteers, MaintenX employees helped renovate the Veterans Restoration Quarters front lobby, provide new landscaping and assemble gazebos, storage sheds, a greenhouse building and a new 1,400-foot nature trail. Volunteers also helped renovate the Azalea Community Training Services building. The space provides important classroom training and counseling during the day and shelter at night.
“It’s wonderful to serve next to your MaintenX coworkers,” Schaphorst said. “I appreciate that giving back is part of our business model.”
