New Book Invites Young Readers to Follow 'Bubba: A Gerbil’s Adventure'
TEHACHAPI, Calif. (PRWEB) January 22, 2019 -- Young children will take away a healthy story of adventure, curiosity and love in Deborah Dominguez, MFT and Richard Engel’s debut book, “Bubba: A Gerbil’s Adventure” (published by Xlibris).
The book begins and ends in Moorpark, California, following the adventures of Bubba, a fuzzy, soft, warm gerbil. He drives the linear plot as he tries to find total freedom. Instead, he finds close calls, threats to his life and misunderstandings. Ultimately, he discovers that love for others and risking his self for them was more satisfying than personal freedom.
A snippet from the book reads:
Bubba was very careful when he stuck his head through the hole. He knew now he was free for sure. There was so much space, he was stunned. There were already so many things he had never seen or smelled. He was free to see the open sky and bright sunlight as he ran for some nearby bushes and ground cover. There, he felt safe but anxious to be on the move. He knew adventures were coming.
“Bubba: A Gerbil’s Adventure” deals with universalities that children need to grasp and parents need to teach. It aims to teach young readers about freedom. It also portrays how personal responsibility and selfless love can overcome personal desires. Concurrently, adults will find many opportunities to discuss these issues with their children, as Bubba grows to discern between good and evil.
