PICO UNION PROJECT CELEBRATES 6th ANNUAL “FAITHSGIVING” COMMUNITY FEST
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) November 07, 2019 -- On Tuesday, November 26th, please join the Pico Union Project at 1153 Valencia St. in historic downtown Los Angeles, from 3:30-5:30 PM, as we celebrate the 6th annual ‘Faithsgiving’ and distribute over 500 turkeys to our well-deserving community. “With six years of Faithsgivings under our belt, we’re confident that this year’s will be bigger and better than ever. We can’t wait for you to see what we have in store,” said Louise Brent, Art Specialist at the PUP.
The Pico Union project has always taken the phrase “love thy neighbor” and put it into action. For the 6th consecutive year, we will be opening our doors and hearts to the community in an afternoon event that will include live music, free food, games, and art projects. We’ll be hosting special guests, including mariachi group Las Colibrí, LA-based music group PLVNK, the Keshet Chaim Dance Company, KYCC, Good Samaritan Hospital, elected officials including Assemblymember Miguel Santiago, Councilmember Gilbert Cedillo, Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, and more. We expect over 50 volunteers, as well as appearances from local law enforcement and firemen.
The turkeys have been donated by a variety of sources, supplying us with enough food to provide to the residents who may not otherwise be able to afford them. We’re guaranteeing the giveaway of 500 turkeys, but our aim is close to 800 this year. Along with other produce that will be handed out, the event on November 26th will assure many families in our neighborhood of having a great Thanksgiving by helping them celebrate one of America’s biggest holidays with an abundance of food.
We hope you and your friends and family can join us for this extraordinary ‘Faithsgiving’ occasion.
