Pathbuilders Percepta® Developing the Next Generation of Leaders
Organizations continue to develop their new and aspiring female managers through Pathbuilders' group mentoring program
ATLANTA, Oct. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pathbuilders, an Atlanta-area organization that specializes in cross-company mentoring programs, company-specific programming, and gender diversity consulting, recently celebrated the launch of their 18th Percepta program. Mentoring is the core of Pathbuilders' unique approach to developing female talent. Percepta, one of Pathbuilders' four cross-company mentoring programs, is a unique program that combines a group mentoring model with interactive developmental workshops and peer networking.
At the program kick-off, more than 110 women from across the southeast gathered to meet their mentoring groups for a half-day session which laid the groundwork for their partnerships. For the Fall 2018 class, 28 organizations from an array of industries sponsored 82 women with proven track records of professional success to take their careers to the next level in the Percepta program.
Women who are selected to participate in the program are emerging leaders learning to think broadly, manage others and make conscious choices.
"This kick-off was the most content-rich and impactful yet enjoyable day of professional development I have had in many years," said Jae Kullar, Manager of Health and Wellbeing at Delta Air Lines. "I am looking forward to the rest of the program."
Over the course of the six-month program, Percepta mentees learn to deliver results in complex work environments. The participants learn about an array of topics such as managing their personal brands, building credibility and influence, and understanding corporate culture from subject matter experts with an average of 25 years of experience in organizations such as Assurant, The Coca-Cola Company, and Comcast, to name a few.
Percepta mentors range from senior managers to vice presidents with diverse professional backgrounds and experiences. Many of the women who volunteer to serve as mentors are graduates of Pathbuilders' Achieva® program, a year-long one-on-one mentoring program that positions mid-level female leaders for senior leadership responsibilities in their organizations. These women value the mentoring experience and want to give back to those who are following behind them.
"I am incredibly energized about my mentee group and am looking forward to building connections with my mentees and empowering them to achieve their goals," shared Lauren Stark, client service partner at Slalom Consulting, LLC. Stark is a 2017 graduate of the Pathbuilders Achieva program.
Percepta matches women to one or two peers who have similar developmental needs and are facing the same issues. Each group is then matched with the mentor who is best positioned to help the mentees reach their goals. This group setting creates a safe, open environment where mentees can discuss their goals and issues, positioning them for success in their organizations.
For nearly 15 years, mentees and mentors from companies such as Turner Broadcasting System, Cox Communications, Mercedes-Benz USA, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, The Coca-Cola Company, Georgia Power Company, and The Home Depot have shared professional successes through the Percepta program. These and other organizations of all sizes continue to send their top female talent through the Pathbuilders programs year after year.
"From interviewing hundreds of women each year, we understand how difficult it can be for them to focus on their careers and their professional development amidst the change occurring in organizations today," stated Helene Lollis, president and chief executive officer of Pathbuilders. "It's inspiring to see so many organizations invest in their female talent and give these women the opportunity to make a real impact on their organizations."
