Smart Selling Tools Announces the Results of its 2019 SalesTech Benchmark Survey
Average Number of Sales Tools in Use Rises from 4.5 to 4.9

The market for sales software technology is fueled by 43 categories of SalesTech and over 600 solutions. Smart Selling Tools surveyed organizations to learn about the usage of the more prevalent categories (27 in all). The results were compared throughout, to results from their first SalesTech survey conducted in 2017 to show how the market has evolved.
"I was expecting for there to be growth in the usage of sales tools, however, I was quite surprised at the magnitude of the growth across the board," said Nancy Nardin, Founder of Smart Selling Tools. "Of the 27 categories of tools, all but 2 experienced double-digit or higher growth."
Among some of the survey findings:
- Average number of tools in use grew from 4.5 to 4.9 with a median of 9 tools
- Account Targeting experienced the highest growth (1175%) among all the tools
- Top of Funnel tools are driving the purchase consideration the most for 2020
- Sales Enablement had the highest growth among Middle of Funnel tools at 567%
- Skills Training and Reinforcement tool usage grew by 183%
- Video Practice and Role-Play tool usage grew by 440%
