Sponsors Support Cybersecurity at the Community College Cyber Summit in Oregon
GRESHAM, Ore. (PRWEB) July 25, 2018 -- Because the cybersecurity educational landscape has changed significantly over the last few years, the Community College Cyber Summit (3CS) was formed to meet growing needs in this arena. For this year’s 3CS, scheduled Aug. 2-4 at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Oregon, a number of top sponsors have already signed on to be part of this influential event.
Bay Path University, EC Council and Palo Alto Networks are each Platinum sponsors while CompTia, Cybint Solutions and American Public University Systems sponsored at the Gold level. Their support helps 3CS achieve its goal of educating educators while exposing their brand to hundreds of individuals.
“Organizations are becoming increasingly aware of the role of community colleges in meeting this nation’s cybersecurity workforce needs,” said Dr. Bob Spear, chair of 3CS. “Also, organizations see that 3CS can be a critical success factor in helping community colleges fulfill that role. From our first 3CS in 2014, where we had one sponsor, we have grown to 12 sponsors in 2017. Sponsorships then exploded to 22, and counting, for this year’s event in Oregon.”
As employers have expressed the need for up-and-coming cybersecurity professionals to understand business context, 3CS has become the resource to help faculty learn how to teach students the why, when and how in applying technology to solve cybersecurity challenges. That idea lent itself to this year’s summit theme, “Expanding Expertise: Transforming Cybersecurity Programs.”
At 3CS, hundreds of cybersecurity faculty, administrators and students across the country will gather to learn about curricula, best practices, products, and the latest technologies. Sponsorship is the best way to maintain this high-level and beneficial event.
