LEHI, Utah (PRWEB) August 10, 2023 -- Summit Venture Studio announces its licensing agreement with ViewPoint, a collaboration software developed at the University of Michigan. ViewPoint is a flexible and efficient solution to enhance collaboration in online, in-person, and hybrid educational and training settings.
Many instructors struggle to find ways to help their students engage meaningfully and practice essential skills and processes with their peers. Employers may encounter similar issues when conducting trainings or simulations that involve interpersonal interactions and role-playing, especially when working with remote staff. ViewPoint allows teachers and other professionals to create custom learning activities quickly, with customizable roles that align with real-world scenarios for more realistic collaborative experiences. In addition, ViewPoint can be automated to present surprising situations or assign new tasks based on customizable timelines or completion of previous learning outcomes.
ViewPoint was developed by Elisabeth Gerber, the Jack L. Walker, Jr. Collegiate Professor of Public Policy at the University of Michigan’s Ford School of Public Policy, in collaboration with the university’s Center for Academic Innovation. ViewPoint was launched with support from Innovation Partnerships, the central hub for research commercialization activity at the University of Michigan. Gerber has already used the platform with hundreds of students in her own teaching, and has helped dozens of instructors at U-M design and implement engaging educational simulations. ViewPoint has also been deployed by numerous other institutions, including UC Berkeley, Harvard, Georgetown, Stanford, and Princeton. “Leveraging Summit Venture Studio's experience, resources and capabilities in the ed tech/software space, we are excited for the new opportunities this partnership promises,” Gerber stated.
Fiona Hayes, President of ViewPoint stated, "This technology is perfect for helping educators, students, and teams, who want the quality learning experiences that come from group collaboration, but are limited by rigid online platforms.”
Taylor Bench, Managing Director at Summit Venture Studio, also commented, “We are ecstatic to partner with the University of Michigan and Elisabeth Gerber to launch ViewPoint. This company will allow universities and colleges to provide more effective group simulations and improve educational engagement and performance. Additionally, with ViewPoint, we’ll be bringing educational simulations to the management training industry.“
