TRX Systems Joins L3Harris Technologies' Mission-Critical Alliance to Accelerate Advancement of Interoperable Public Safety Technologies
TRX's NEON® Location Service technology provides mission-critical 3D location for personnel operating in GPS-denied areas including indoors, underground, and areas where GPS is intentionally denied, enhancing situational awareness and safety of personnel and improving command effectiveness.
GREENBELT, Md., Aug. 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- TRX Systems, developer of NEON® Location Solutions, announced today its membership in the L3Harris Technologies Mission Critical Alliance (MCA), a consortium of public safety technology providers with a common goal of advancing the capabilities, compatibility, and security of mission-critical solutions. The L3Harris MCA members are leading technology vendors offering products and services that complement the L3Harris core network and radio platforms. Alliance members explore technology synergies, furthering the development of mission-critical solutions that meet the needs of federal, state, and local public safety personnel.
TRX's NEON Location Service is a mission-critical location technology that enhances situational awareness and safety for personnel operating in areas where GPS is unavailable or unreliable. NEON® enables seamless 3D location and tracking for personnel operating indoors, underground, in dense urban areas, and in areas where GPS may be intentionally denied. The NEON Location Service fuses data from device sensors with available map and RF data to calculate each user's 3D location in real time. With the NEON® API, mission-critical location data can be shared across the MCA ecosystem for visualization of first responder locations indoors and out, including elevation (z-axis), which is vital for real-time operational effectiveness.
"Knowing the indoor location of personnel at an incident, particularly with elevation and floor-level indication, has long been a challenge. For mission-critical technologies to meet user needs, they must be integrated into the devices and software already in use," said Laton Palmer, Vice President of Market Development at TRX. "TRX is excited to work with L3Harris to leverage our NEON mission-critical location solution to help close this critical capability gap," added Mr. Palmer.
