TENDER HEARTS SWEETHEART BALL!!! Try your luck with an evening of fun, Casino Night, Silent Auction, and much more!!!
WILMINGTON, Del., Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Medically fragile children are becoming an increasing part of the population especially in our area with its high saturation of state-of-the-art children's hospitals. Providing care for a medically fragile child with chronic health care conditions is not only very emotional, but also very expensive. From mounting medical bills, special needs, employment stability, and the general emotional toll, it is challenging and daunting.
With this in mind, the Doherty Family founded Tender Hearts, Inc., a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation. The Doherty Family has made it their mission to support children with diverse medical needs in order to create a better quality of life in Delaware for them. "There are so many children that are born with disabilities, injuries, and/or diseases. These little angels were never given the opportunity to grow their wings and become healthy," said Debbie Doherty, Founder and Chairperson of Tender Hearts.
As part of its mission, Tender Hearts hosts several fundraisers every year, to include an annual 5K Family Fun Day, to support its cause. One of the hallmark events on the charity's calendar is the Sweetheart Ball, which takes shape as a black tie optional Ball. This year, the Sweetheart Ball will be held on Saturday, February 16 –days after Valentine's Day. What better way to spread the organization's message than to spread love to children in the community who need it most?
The proceeds from Tender Hearts' fundraisers are used to promote the specific focus of improving the mobility of medically fragile children, with the ambition of providing a better quality of life. Tender Hearts uses funds that are raised to pay for qualifying children's necessary prescriptions, life-saving medical equipment, clothing, and of course, during the holidays, toys. The organization is also very closely affiliated with Nemours Children's Hospital and our members routinely volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and Nemours Children's Hospital. Tender Hearts is the proud sponsor of several of their programs under the Child Life Department at Nemours. Not only for educational purposes but support, encouragement and financial means.
The Sweetheart Ball will be hosted on Saturday, February 16 from 6:30 pm – 11:30 pm at the Waterfall Banquet & Conference Center on Philadelphia Pike in Wilmington, Delaware. The fundraiser will have a casino night theme, featuring table games including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and Texas Hold'em. There will also be a silent auction, raffles, photo booth, dinner and drinks, as well as DJ'd entertainment and dancing.
Tickets for the evening are $125.00, which includes a complimentary $25.00 chip to gamble with. The organization has acquired several very exciting and valuable items for auction. A reminder, $100.00 of the ticket is tax deductible – so when combined with the complimentary chip, entry will technically cost a mere $25.00.
Tender Hearts, Inc., can only achieve its goals with the assistance of generous donations from members of our community. The organization relies on the generosity of individuals and local businesses. We ask you to consider a donation to our cause through a sponsorship, silent auction item, or attending our event.
