The Hair Blinger® Launches in Dallas, TX
Is it a toy or a serious styling tool? You can decide when the Hair Blinger® debuts at the Fall Toy Preview Show in Dallas, Texas, October 2nd - October 4th!
WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 2, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Retailers who attend the National Fall Toy Preview Show in Dallas, Texas this year will walk into a room filled with a little more sparkle than in years passed. Angie Cella, of Wilmington, Delaware, is debuting Hair Blinger® a new tool that applies "bling" to your hair. At first, the name may sound overly cutesy but upon seeing the device in action, it demands the respect of a tool you may expect to see in hair salons all over America, but Ms. Cella is releasing Hair Blinger® first, to the toy market. As she explains, "Though I believe women will love this product as well for weddings or special occasions, the younger girls will probably find more applications for the Hair Blinger® initially." It's perfect for cheer, dance, gymnastics, prom; the possibilities are endless in the teen market. She goes on to share, "One of my daughter's friends even blinged up her horse!"
In speaking of why she created the device, Angie becomes excited in stating, "Before the Hair Blinger® there was just never an easy or safe way to get bling onto your hair." Other products require heat or electricity, and are tricky to not only use, but many damage the hair, don't stay in place or are difficult to remove. I saw an opportunity to fill this gap and to give girls a way to have all the sparkle they want." No doubt, the crystals do shine bright in the hair and retailers will catch her vision.
Hair Blinger® uses an ingenious disk design to deliver rhinestones, Swarovski® crystals or other gems directly to the hair without heat or electricity. The stones are being offered in a range of sizes, from 3mm to 7mm, and are treated with a proprietary adhesive, that is safe for all hair types. "That was important to us that all women and girls could use it without worrying about it damaging their hair," Angie says. When the disk is loaded into the tool, with one squeeze, the rhinestone is pressed out onto the hair. The adhesive bonds to the hair and stays put while girls tumble in gymnastics, dance on stage, play sports or just have fun. Surprisingly, however, is how easy the stones are to remove… simply brush them out.
Hair Blinger® will ship with 3 pre-loaded disks, for a total of 45 rhinestones. 75 stone refill packs are also available online and will soon be found in retail stores with over 30 varieties of colors and sizes so girls can choose their style. Where one may find the transition of toy to serious fashion tool, is the option of purchasing refill packs pre-loaded with genuine Swarovski® crystals, as Angie notes, "Girls will have a ton of fun blinging out their hair with rhinestones, but on special occasions like ballet recitals or prom, they'll probably want a little more sparkle, so we've worked closely with Swarovski® to create a great collection of crystal disks to help them achieve their hairstyle goals." When asked if in her mind the device is a toy or a tool, she responds, "If you knew the engineering it took to develop this, you'd definitely say it's a tool. But it's fun, fashionable and teens love it! So that makes it a great fit for the toy industry. So, I guess I'd say it's both!"
The Hair Blinger® being released this year is actually the 4th iteration of the tool. Ms. Cella literally had a dream about the product concept four years ago and being a mom of four children, she knew it would be a hit if she could get it made. What she didn't know when she started on her journey was how tricky it would be to apply a tiny jewel to hair, as she explains, "It's one thing to engineer a tool that applies a jewel onto a flat surface. It's altogether different when that surface is human hair." The latest design of Hair Blinger® has risen to the engineering challenges. Both clever as well as simple, it's finally ready for the public market allowing girls from age 12 and up to "bling" their hair with relative ease—the only limit being their own imagination.
So, toy or tool, the Hair Blinger® is sure to add sparkle and style to hair everywhere with this fashion-first styling device. Ms. Cella and her team will be "blinging" hair for attendees of the Dallas Fall Toy Preview show who visit her booth. Her product is now available for preorder at hairblinger.com with the first shipments expected to drop in December, 2018. Angie said, "It's been an amazing journey! Though it's taken me four years to get here, to have this opportunity to present my product to the retailers in Dallas makes it all worthwhile." Could this be the next big trend in fashion? Angie quickly replied, "Absolutely! Every woman since the beginning of time loves to adorn their hair. And every little girl deserves a chance to shine."
