The Libman Company Offers 15 Spring Cleaning Hacks to Get Homes Sparkling
Libman, a 123-year old manufacturer of household and commercial cleaning products that are made in the U.S.A., offers some helpful spring cleaning tips.
ARCOLA, Ill., Feb. 21, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- While most Americans are happy to say goodbye to winter, ushering in spring has its own set of challenges, including the age-old tradition of tackling spring cleaning chores. The Libman Company, a leading U.S. maker of household and commercial cleaning products, helps you prepare for the task with 15 cleaning hacks.
1. To clean your shower surrounds without getting your hands wet, dip your favorite mop (try the Libman Wonder Mop) into a solution of 1/2 cup of vinegar, 1 cup of clear ammonia, and 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1 gallon of warm water. After cleaning, rinse with warm water.
2. Cleaning window screens by removing them and taking them outside. Lay the screen flat on a piece of cloth or old carpet. Use the soft Libman Microfiber Duster to wash the screen with a mild detergent. Rinse it off with a hose and let it dry in the sun.
3. Use a Libman Microfiber Sponge Cloth to clean out the track of your sliding glass door.
4. To remove dirt deep in your carpet, use your Libman Large Precision Angle Broom to "sweep" your carpet thoroughly before vacuuming. The broom fibers will dig down into the carpet, moving dirt to the surface
5. To clean painted walls, combine1/2 cup of household ammonia, 1 teaspoon of hand dishwashing soap and 1 gallon of warm water. Soak your Libman Gator Mop in the solution, wring out, and wash your walls from the bottom up. Change the cleaning solution as it gets dirty and rinse the bucket with water to prevent the walls from streaking.
6. To clean the smoky, burnt on residue from the glass doors on your fireplace or wood burning stove: Dip a damp paper towel in ashes and use them to clean the glass. You can also use the ashes from your fireplace to clean the glass window on a gas grill.
7. The Libman Bottle Brush is useful in cleaning baseboard radiator fins. The bristles are soft enough not to damage the delicate fins yet sturdy enough to scrub away any compacted dust. The short handle allows the user to get around the center radiator pipe to clean back and underneath areas.
8. Clean and deodorize the inside of a refrigerator by making a natural solution of 3 tablespoons baking soda to one quart warm water. Wipe dry with a delicate Libman China & Glass Sponge.
9. Take the glass light bulb covers off ceiling fans and chandeliers and stick them in the dishwasher. They come out sparkling clean and it's less work for your tired hands.
10. Remove crayon marks from walls - cover the crayon mark with toothpaste, let set for 30 minutes, then wipe clean with a Libman All-Purpose Sponge.
11. To get rid of mildew around the refrigerator door seal, use a 1 to 1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water. For easy cleaning, put solution in a spray bottle, spray on and let soak for 30 minutes. On stubborn stains use a soft-bristled scrub brush like the Libman Kitchen Brush. Rinse with vinegar and water solution and allow to completely dry.
12. To get kids to help with the bathroom clean-up, have them clean the sink and tub with baking soda and vinegar. The kids love the fizzing and it gets the sink and tub sparkling clean.
13. When you encounter rust rings or stains left behind by appliances on your cushioned no-wax floor, gently scrub with a solution of cola and coarse salt. Rinse thoroughly. It effectively removes the rust without ruining the shine.
OUTSIDE AREAS
14. Use a 18" Libman Multi-Surface Push Broom as a large scrub brush to scrub both high and low areas of aluminum or vinyl siding.
15. Clean out wading pools and play equipment with a Libman Wonder Mop and a solution of 1/4 cup hand dishwashing soap and 1-gallon of water. Rinse off, and let the fun begin.
