Hundreds of exceptional women were nominated in this year's process. We evaluated each nominee based on a series of questions on the candidate's professional capabilities. The Software Report also conducted candidate evaluation based on research of qualified information sources and publicly available information. We looked for demonstrated cybersecurity expertise, longevity in the industry, career progression and current position among other factors.
It gives us great pleasure to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of these deserving women in the demanding field of cybersecurity.
Topping this year's list are Angela McKay, Senior Director of Cybersecurity Policy and Strategy for Microsoft; Kara Sprague, Senior Vice President and General Manager for F5; and Debbie Umbach, Vice President of Marketing for BitSight Technologies. Notably, Debbie joined BitSight in 2014 as employee #39 and since then has helped grow the company's customer base more than tenfold to 1,600 customers.
A few highly accomplished women gracing the list deserve mention. They include Keenan Skelly who was one of the first female U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians; Dana Tamir, who built Silverfort's marketing team from the ground up driving product sales growth; Sarah Walker, White Ops' Vice President of Engineering; and Jennifer Wang, Vectra's Vice President of Customer Success.
