Tree-Range® Farms Announces New Leadership Team With CEO Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin
Founder of Regenerative Agriculture Alliance, Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin to lead new regenerative food company Tree-Range® Farms.
NORTHFIELD, Minn., Nov. 28, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Regenerative Agriculture Alliance (RAA) announced today that founder and Co-Director Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin is stepping down to lead a new privately-held regenerative food company, Tree-Range® Farms, Inc (TRF).
Tree-Range Farms is a new kind of food company built on regenerative land practices, animal health and family farmer profitability & sustainability. The system is firmly grounded in a time-tested agriculture approach which places a premium on resiliency and measures success for the entire community or ecosystem.
"We see the creation of Tree-Range Farms as the natural evolution of the work started by Regi at RAA," said RAA Executive Director Diane Beck-Christofore. "And the RAA remains closely linked to Regi and his new TRF team as we continue our work of scaling up a systems-level regenerative poultry solution that restores ecological balance, produces nourishing food, and puts money back into the hands of farmers and food chain workers."
Haslett-Marroquin is the recognized international thought and movement leader for regenerative poultry-centered systems. An agronomist by training, multi-generational farmer and the first Tree-Range® chicken producer, Regi is also a lifetime Ashoka Fellow.
"I am honored to lead Tree-Range Farms. This company is a central pivot of the regenerative poultry-centered agriculture systems work started by the RAA," said Haslett-Marroquin. "While RAA focuses on regenerative poultry ecosystems building and management, which includes a heavy emphasis on recruiting and training regenerative farmers, Tree-Range Farms exists to contract, aggregate, brand, and market the system outputs, with chickens at the core of the poultry-centered design."
Tree-Range chickens range outside under a protective and productive natural canopy which resembles the ancestral habitat of this jungle creature. Chickens spend the day foraging for food and providing fertilizer and pest protection for perennial crops. The different parts of the system work together to feed and support each other while building soil organic matter, resulting in carbon drawdown, enhanced fertility, biodiversity and water storage, and restoration of nutrient and water cycling.
Tree-Range Farms chicken is currently available at select Minnesota food co-ops, including Seward Food Coop and Just Foods, as well as select area restaurants. TRF chicken has also been served in Carleton College and other local cafeterias as part of BonAppetit "Farm to Fork" local food program. While currently limited to frozen chicken, the range of regeneratively-raised products will eventually include eggs, hazelnuts, and elderberries.

About the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance
The Regenerative Agriculture Alliance was created in 2018 as the non-profit arm of a larger ecosystem designed to build a regenerative, equitable, and socially just agriculture sector. It is focused on scaling up a systems-level regenerative poultry solution which restores ecological balance, produces nourishing food, and puts money back into the hands of farmers and food chain workers. To do so requires a completely new supply chain that integrates grassroots organizing of farmers with physical infrastructure and other regeneratively-stacked enterprises. http://www.regenagalliance.org
