ATLANTA (PRWEB) April 05, 2019 -- Watershed Geo announced today that CEO Michael Ayers has appointed Kyle Ehman as President effective April 1. The company’s national footprint is approaching 2,000 acres of installed projects, and Watershed Geo has doubled in revenue and employees in the past three years. Watershed Geo specializes in engineered products that solve earth’s greatest challenges with solutions that reduce risks, significantly reduce maintenance and stand the test of time.
“The board and I are confident that Kyle is the right person to build on our momentum as we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of our flagship product, ClosureTurf, which has changed how waste containment is permanently and environmentally managed,” says Ayers. “Kyle and I have a long-standing relationship, and he brings shared values and an entrepreneurial spirit to growing an innovative business like Watershed Geo. He will continue to play a critical role in our market leadership, disrupting what needs to change in the industries we serve.”
Ehman provides a wealth of experience to help lead the company during a rapid stage of growth, continuing the trajectory of success in civil and environmental geosynthetic applications across several industries and waste streams. For the past six years, he has been heavily involved in the evolution of Watershed’s growth and product expansion as the standing Board Manager representing Shaw Industries Group, Inc., the exclusive supplier of Watershed Geo’s engineered synthetic turf. Shaw Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc., is a shareholder in the company. Ehman has been the President of Southwest Greens International for over 11 years, a company that Shaw Industries acquired in 2011. Ehman will remain on the Board of Southwest Greens International.
“We are excited about the tremendous growth opportunities of Watershed Geo,” says Vance Bell, Chairman and CEO of Shaw Industries. “It is a natural next step for Kyle to serve as the company’s President, further strengthening and addressing the needs of the team and business. Shaw will continue to fully support their efforts to grow.”
In Ehman’s new role, he will manage the company’s operations, sales, and administration, while driving efficiencies throughout the company and directing leadership teams to execute on the company’s vision. The addition of Ehman will allow CEO Michael Ayers to carry out the company’s core mission to be an innovator and leader in civil and environmental infrastructure protection and resiliency. This involves the development of strategic growth plans, commercialization of over a dozen patents, evaluation of new market offerings, establishing key partnerships and International expansion.
Watershed Geo has been celebrating the 10th anniversary of its first ClosureTurf installation, an engineered synthetic turf system that has solved plaguing issues to traditional landfill closure designs. Since the launch of ClosureTurf, the company has expanded its patented line of geosynthetic solutions to provide civil as well as environmental applications for erosion control, soil stabilization, waste containment and energy generation.
Ehman’s appointment follows a couple of key hires in the company, including industry professional Ming Zhu, Ph.D., as Director of Engineering and hydrology expert Bryan Scholl, Ph.D.
“I am excited and honored by the Board’s confidence in me in assuming this new role,” says Kyle Ehman. “The future is very bright at Watershed Geo. We have an exceptionally talented team of engineers, and field and sales professionals that cannot be matched in industry experience and geotechnical expertise. As an innovative geotechnical technology company, we will continue to innovate products and the use of those products in new diverse applications and markets, unlocking a lot of potential for future growth.”
