Yamaha Makes Big Splash at 2019 NAMM Show Taking Home Eight Awards
ANAHEIM, Calif. (PRWEB) February 07, 2019 -- Yamaha Corporation of America, the world’s largest musical instrument manufacturer, earned eight awards at this year’s Winter NAMM show, including two products named “Best in Show.”
The groundbreaking Sonogenic SHS-500 keytar and the innovative YVN Model 3 Student Violin were bestowed with the coveted Best in Show award by a panel of industry experts at the annual music products trade event recently held in Anaheim. The awards were presented during the show’s NAMM U, where business owners, suppliers, employers and endorsed artists gather to hear a distinguished panel of retail-buying experts submit their top picks of all the products displayed at the show.
Representing a new Yamaha product category, the Sonogenic SHS-500 puts players “in the band” by connecting with the free Yamaha iOS® app Chord Tracker, which analyzes the music library residing on a smart device and sends chord data directly to the instrument via wireless MIDI over Bluetooth. The YVN Model 3 Violin draws upon advanced building methods first developed for Yamaha percussion and wind instruments and is constructed with the tight tolerances normally associated with much more expensive, luthier-built models.
Additionally, the MODX8 synthesizer and HW3 Advanced Lightweight Hardware Pack (Crosstown Hardware) each won the prestigious Music and Sound Award, presented by Music & Sound Retailer. The MODX8 is a compact, lightweight, hybrid synthesizer inspired by the flagship Yamaha synth technology to offer dynamic, expressive music-making at an affordable price. The Crosstown Hardware is a new generation of cymbal, snare and hi-hat stands offering a sturdy yet lightweight design for portability.
Yamaha also received the distinguished Supplier Excellence Award from Music Inc., as well as the Music Inc. Product Excellence Award for the company’s DTX402 Series electronic drum kit, an entry-level kit that encourages and challenges aspiring drummers with easy play and app-based learning tools. Announced annually, the Excellence Awards recognize the top industry products, suppliers and retailers as identified by a survey of industry insiders across North America.
Rounding out the list of accolades, Yamaha was also recognized with two MMR Dealers’ Choice Awards, securing the Band & Orchestra Line of the Year and Sound Reinforcement Line of the Year. The MMR Dealers’ Choice Award honors the finest products and companies in the music products industry.
“We are so grateful to be recognized across multiple divisions and product categories at this year’s Winter NAMM show,” said Roger Eaton, chief marketing director, Yamaha Corporation of America. “These awards inspire us to continue with our innovative approach to making musical instruments that will not only encourage existing musicians to share their art with the world but create more music makers.”
