"Eco Challenge Triple Play" Recycling Event Aims for Homerun; First Base: E-Waste, Second Base: Paper Shredding, Third Base: Goodwill Clothing Drive
Santa Ana, CA (PRWEB) July 26, 2013 -- The County of Orange, Discovery Science Center, Goodwill of Orange County and Angels Baseball team up for the first Eco Challenge Triple Play event. Orange County residents can drop off electronic waste, old paper files and gently used clothing for a tax-deductible donation at Angels Stadium on Saturday, August 10th between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The first three hundred cars that bring three bags of any of the above-mentioned items will receive two free tickets to a 2013 Angels baseball game.
But that’s not all! Every Orange County participant in this recycling and disposal event will walk away a winner, each car will receive one free child’s admission coupon for Eco Challenge exhibit at Discovery Science Center. All clothing donors will receive a donation receipt from Goodwill.
“The Triple Play event is a great combination of fun, environmental responsibility and getting those closets and files cleaned out! We hope that residents take advantage of the triple play opportunity at Angel Stadium on Saturday, August 10th,” said Orange County Board of Supervisors Chairman, Shawn Nelson.
Last year Goodwill of Orange County was able to divert 43 million pounds of waste from Orange County landfills. This year they are aiming for more. This is a great opportunity for Orange County residents to clean up the house while helping to keep Orange County clean and green.
"Every year, we process and divert tons of electronics, paper, cardboard and textiles from landfills, generating indispensable revenue for our programs," said Frank Talarico, Jr., president and CEO of Goodwill of Orange County. "By recycling with the Eco Challenge Triple Play, participants are doing more than just save the planet, they're also helping people within our own community get and keep jobs."
