‘Ohana Opens Welcome Room In Honolulu, Hawaii
Honolulu, HI (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- ‘Ohana Health Plan, a statewide provider of managed care services for Hawaii’s government-sponsored health care programs, recently opened its first Welcome Room in Hawaii. ‘Ohana’s Welcome Room is a neighborhood health care information, education and sales center that is open to the public and staffed by ‘Ohana associates who can answer questions about Medicare and Medicaid health plans, and eligibility for ‘Ohana plans.
The facility is designed to offer a comfortable environment where visitors can ask questions, find out if they are eligible for extra benefits, get online to search for more information and enroll in an ‘Ohana health plan. The ‘Ohana Welcome Room also offers health educational seminars and community events.
“Every day we have the privilege of helping thousands of beneficiaries in the Honolulu area, and the ‘Ohana Welcome Room is one way that we are offering face-to-face assistance to make it easier for our members and people across the community to access the information and tools they need to make important health care decisions,” said Wendy Morriarty, state president, ‘Ohana Health Plan. “Currently, this facility’s staff is focused on being a valuable resource for the approximately 150,000 Medicare-eligible residents of the Honolulu area who are making plan choices during the Annual Election Period, which runs through December 7.”
The ‘Ohana Welcome Room is located on the island of Oahu in the Waterfront Plaza, 500 Ala Moana Blvd., Suite 1-D, Honolulu, HI 96813. As of September 30, 2013, ‘Ohana serves approximately 8,000 Medicare Advantage plan members, 38,000 Medicaid plan members and 1,000 Medicare Prescription Drug Plan members across the state of Hawaii.
