“Serving Our Veterans” Program Announced by Morgan Fertility and Reproductive Medicine
Ocean, New Jersey (PRWEB) November 15, 2015 -- This Veteran’s Day, the two largest organizations in the fertility field of healthcare, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), revealed a public call for Congress to fix the problem and announced a new initiative where fertility doctors across the nation have pledged to offer IVF to qualifying veterans at a deeply discounted rate.
The current ban on the Veterans Administration (VA) ability to provide medically-indicated infertility coverage for veterans has long been called “antiquated and unconscionable” by the nation’s leading fertility doctors. Dr. Allen Morgan says he’s proud to be at the forefront of this call to action and expressed his distaste for Congress’ apparent inability to provide proper care for our veterans.
“The Senate has passed legislation to remedy this devastatingly unfair situation. But, Congress has consistently failed to complete the process due to partisan gridlock. So, collectively we have called on Congress to lift the statutory prohibition on the VA to cover In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) for our veterans when medically indicated.” He adds, “In the meantime, we are not just going to stand by any longer and do nothing to help,” says Dr. Morgan, referring to the new “Serving Our Veterans” program revealed at the same time.
“Through this groundbreaking program, we have committed to provide IVF services to our veterans at a deeply discounted price,” says Dr. Morgan. Adding, “Many of our young men and women have been severely injured by Improvised Explosive Devices (IED’s) during combat or rendered otherwise unable to have a family of their own. It is the least we can do to express our gratitude for their service and sacrifice.”
Service to our country runs in Dr. Allen Morgan’s family. He served in the US Army Medical Service Corps. Allen’s father, a prominent OB/GYN in Central New Jersey for several decades, also served in the United States Air Force and as a Brigadier General with the NJ Air National Guard.
Representatives of several Veterans Service Organizations have publicly rejoiced in the “Serving Our Veterans” program. Wounded Warrior Project, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Vietnam Veterans of America and Paralyzed Veterans of America, are just a few who have released press releases praising the ASRM, SART and participating fertility doctors. All expressed hopes this program will help veterans transition out of the military by giving them back the basic ability to start a family and move on with their lives.
Dr. Morgan says he’s proud to spearhead this initiative in New Jersey and New York and warns that not all fertility practices are participating. All veterans and their families who have lost the ability or are struggling to start a family due to service related wounds, injuries and illnesses are invited to call 848-260-2918 to learn more about this pioneering program and to schedule a complimentary consultation at one of his offices in New York, NY, or in Ocean or Monmouth Counties in New Jersey.
