A Hot Tub extends the use of your garden
(PRWEB UK) 12 October 2014 -- After putting in the hours to make the garden look great for summer, it can be disheartening when it is all over, and the nights start to draw in. A Hot Tub can extend the use of your outdoor space into the winter months while adding a touch of glamour to your home, not to mention the health benefits the hydrotherapy features can provide.
There are an estimated 100,000 Hot Tubs in the UK and rising. With Hot Tubs rated as one of the top ten must have garden accessories in the UK, popularity for the home spas has grown tremendously in the past few years. People are working longer hours with “work hard play hard” life ethics, making affordable luxuries the key to maximising time at home.
Hot tubs come in a range of styles and price tags. According to British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association (BISHTA) “Hot Tubs can be installed in the garden, in or above ground, in a conservatory or home extension and even on a rooftop terrace”. You can also have many types of gazebos to add that finishing touch! By, usually, being above ground (rather than in-ground) this gives you more flexibility about positioning, with the added advantage of being able to take it with you if you move house”. BISHTA offers a reminder though that they are bulky items and may require specialist lifting equipment. Simple to run, a basic Hot Tub can be purchased for under £4,000 and can cost between £1.00 and £1.50 per day (on average) to maintain at a comfortable 40°C.
If you have a higher budget at your dispense, you might consider a Swim Spa, which combines the features of a Hot Tub and a Swimming Pool. A Swim Spa is heated and equipped with jets that produce a continual current. You get a workout by swimming "in place" against the current, rather than doing laps. Providing all the fun and exercise of a Swimming Pool with less of a space demand.
The choice is exorbitant, If the Hot Tub is just for personal or family use, a smaller product might suffice. For entertaining, you will need a unit that can comfortably accommodate more people. If you’re tall, think about a Hot Tub that provides enough room to stretch out comfortably, having to slouch to keep your shoulders below the water will mean reduced enjoyment.
BISHTA suggests you ask for a "wet test" before committing to buying a particular unit. "Sit in the spa," they advise. "See how it feels before you buy." BISHTA provides consumer advice and an easy to use “Find a Member” facility via they’re recently re-launched website. BISHTA provides a trustworthy source for consumers to purchase Hot Tubs and Swim Spas. All BISHTA members go through business checks by BISHTA to provide consumers with peace of mind when purchasing.
If a Hot Tub is on your shopping list this winter, there will be warm steamy bubbles to look forward to after a long day at work and a cold journey home. Plus hours of enjoyment for family, friends and any guests being entertained over the Christmas period. And if anybody’s feeling generous – it may even make the perfect Christmas gift!
