A Texan finds hope traveling north
ROBSTOWN, Texas (PRWEB) January 20, 2016 -- It’s an American tradition – tales of traveling, family, love and death. Western novels date back to the early 19th century and have acquired legions of fans over the years that often find a sense of nostalgia and entertainment within their pages. Lynn Luick’s new book, Silver Buck, uses a modern approach to tell a classic story.
A young man by the name of Buck Taylor is sent to Colorado by his mother only to learn that his great-grandfather, Jeb, has died. From there, Buck meets Jeb’s best friend, Foster, and learns that his great-grandfather may have been murdered. The two find themselves trapped in the mountains during a Colorado winter, but along the way, Buck finds a crutch that gives him the hope he needs.
“This book shows that good will always overcome evil,” Luick said. “Also, don’t listen to people that tell you that you can’t do something. Use your head and decide what’s right and wrong.”
Although Luick was born in Oregon, he calls Texas home. After retiring, Luick started focusing on something he’s always been passionate about – writing. His fiction stories are often centered on places he has visited as he loves to travel. Silver Buck is Luick’s first piece of western fiction, but he plans on writing many more.
“I have always loved the old west,” Luick said. “Books and movies about its history inspired me to write this. Silver Buck tells an exciting tale of the old west that can be enjoyed by everyone.”
