Adopted Child Placed by Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. Subject of New Documentary
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) July 25, 2017 -- Adoption attorneys at Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C. are celebrating “I Lived on Parker Avenue,” a short documentary film that details the reunion story of David Scotton, whose adoption was arranged by the firm in 1993, and his birth parents nearly twenty years later. The film’s trailer was recently released, and the full film is slated for release in March 2018.
“‘I Lived On Parker Avenue’ is a testament to the power and beauty of adoption,” said Steve Kirsh, founder of Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., who has over thirty-five years’ experience as an adoption attorney. “Seeing something like this reminds us of why we do what we do. I encourage everyone to go watch the film’s trailer and support the film.”
David’s birth parents lived in Indiana, and his adoptive parents lived, and still reside, in New Orleans. In 2011, David’s birth mother reached out to Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., expressing interest in having contact with David, who was then a college student (he is now in law school). After David and his family agreed to contact, Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C., facilitated the exchange of information. “After the exchange of information, David and his birth family began communicating and planned to meet in 2013,” added Kirsh.
A New Orleans-based director filmed the first-time meeting between David and his birth family. The reunion turned into the 31-minute short documentary. “I was amazed at the quality of the film. It really feels like you are actually there for the reunion,” said Joel Kirsh, another attorney at Kirsh & Kirsh, P.C.
