AIA Hires Katherine Pettibone to Head Western Region
Washington, DC (PRWEB) September 14, 2015 -- The American Insurance Association (AIA) announced today that Katherine Pettibone will assume the position of Western Region vice president for state affairs, effective October 1. Pettibone joins AIA from the Civil Justice Association of California (CJAC).
“Katherine will be a tremendous asset for AIA’s advocacy efforts in the West and our association as a whole,” said Leigh Ann Pusey, AIA’s president and CEO. “Her experience leading CJAC’s legislative efforts as well as her work in the California Governor’s Office make her uniquely suited to advance AIA’s legislative and regulatory priorities,” added Joe DiGiovanni, AIA’s senior vice president for state affairs.
“I’m pleased to accept this opportunity and look forward to working with AIA’s member companies and business community partners to effectively represent the property-casualty insurance sector across the West,” said Ms. Pettibone.
Ms. Pettibone will be based in the association’s Sacramento, CA office. The Western region includes the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
Ms. Pettibone has served as CJAC’s legislative director since 2010. She previously served as a senior legislative analyst in the California Governor’s Office of Planning and Research. Ms. Pettibone is a 2006 graduate of the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. She earned her undergraduate degree in 1996 from the University of Miami. An avid sailor, Ms. Pettibone competed in the 1995 America’s Cup as a member of its first all-women’s racing team as well as multiple races around the world.
