AlteredScale Achieves SSAE 16 Compliance
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) December 30, 2013 -- AlteredScale, a provider of flexible data center solutions, today announced the company has achieved Statement on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 16 Type II standards compliance covering its new colocation facility at 601 W Polk.
Assessed by independent auditors from Harrell and Widener LLC, achieving the SSAE certification demonstrates AlteredScale’s commitment to the highest standards of operational excellence. SSAE 16 is a standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) for service organizations. An SSAE 16 Type II certification validates that an organization has completed a rigorous independent audit of its control objectives and activities within information technology, corporate and related service areas.
Companies that are compliance-sensitive, including publicly traded enterprises, financial firms, and healthcare organizations, may require an SSAE 16 certification. The SSAE 16 examination report includes management's description of AlteredScale’s organizational systems, the suitability of the design and operating effectiveness of the controls. Further, the report contains a written assertion from management regarding the systems and a service auditor's opinion letter.
"We are dedicated to operating our facilities at a level that meets or exceeds the highest industry and regulatory standards," said Kevin Francis, President of AlteredScale. "Achieving SSAE 16 compliance demonstrates that AlteredScale has the proper controls and processes in place to deliver the high-quality services our customers expect."
