American Wave Machines Technology Brings Indoor Surfing to Canada
MONTREAL (PRWEB) December 02, 2014 -- American Wave Machines announced that the first dedicated surf park in Canada has opened in Montreal. Oasis Surf, located at DIX30 mall, features a 24’ wide SurfStream® surfing machine, surrounded by a 150-seat dining and bar area. It is a destination for surfers riding waves ranging from 2’ to 6’ barrels, and spectators who want to enjoy the California boardwalk themed food and vibe.
“Oasis Surf brings together retail, entertainment, food and beverage and sport, all under one roof,” said Claude Coudry, Owner of Oasis Surf. “Oasis Surf is not only growing the sport, but creating a unique experience for surfers and spectators at DIX30."
The surf park is also the first time that surfing has been incorporated into a retail environment. Its location in an upscale mall means that Oasis Surf is creating a new business model by providing new reasons for patrons to visit brick-and-mortar stores, and is bringing a unique attraction to the chic DIX30.
“Surfing is one of the most aspirational sports in the world,” said Bruce McFarland, Founder and President of American Wave Machines. “Our technology makes surfing possible away from the ocean, in any kind of weather, and in all types of spaces. DIX30 is now home to a unique attraction that will help it compete with other malls and online retailers. As malls seek out new ways to draw customers, American Wave Machines’ technology is making new and desired experiences possible.” McFarland concluded.
