AmishCrush.com Celebrates First Birthday
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) March 15, 2014 -- The Amish dating site that's been getting a lot of attention over the past year (http://www.amishcrush.com/) is now a budding one year old. AmishCrush.com; a website specifically catering to Amish Mennonites or those seeking to meet one has been getting a lot of play; much more than the developers of the site had anticipated.
Few people from the outside world, or the “English” world as it is referred to within Amish communities, have actually ever met or become friends with a member of the Amish community.
The problem is that many Amish folk remain within their communities and so don’t have to travel very far, as Amish tradition is based largely around separation from the tech-reliant world, but this is a problem that Amish Crush, an Amish dating site, has been addressing over the last year through its website.
Nickolas James, the online marketer for FreeDateClub.com had this to say about why he decided to launch push for the launch of Amish Crush, “I discovered one day last year that there's a market for Amish people looking to date. I believed all Amish people stayed away from technology but soon found that some do use it. From there I decided to launch AmishCrush.com and see if it would take off – and it did.”
Founded in 2013, the site is a dating service catering to Amish Mennonites looking for love outside of their communities. Some communities tend to be fairly small and every now and again members are unlucky with love within those small sample pools, but through Amish Crush, these singles can expand their search scope and find like-minded Amish Mennonites and arrange meet-ups. Lucky members even find contacts living close to them.
According to Nicklas, "AmishCrush.com caters to Amish people living in all of North America and in other parts of the world where you can find Amish Mennonite communities."
Users simply need to sign up for an account online with very basic information and a short bio—it’s as easy as that. This will put them in a database with other members, making them easily searchable by city, state, gender, age, and other profile features. This is a brand new way of connecting Amish communities with the outside world, and it’s already had one year of success with new members joining every few days or more.
But of course, the site recognizes that there is a world outside of the Amish community. Amish folk are some of the warmest and most welcoming people in their interactions with outsiders, and in fact, “English” folk are permitted to join their community under certain circumstances.
Of course, this is a very serious and life changing decision, but those who make it are sure that it’s what they’ve wanted. That’s why Amish Crush allows non-Amish single people to join their site, too.
Unfortunately, information about Amish communities isn’t readily available in most cases. Amish Crush understands this and so it is setting itself up as more than just a dating site—it is a resource for those looking to learn about Amish culture, too. They offer articles, advice, and FAQs that they hope will educate people from the outside on what it’s truly like living on the inside. These resources are invaluable to those contemplating life within the Anabaptist church, especially if they’re looking to settle down and get married.
In short, Amish Crush provides a previously unavailable resource to singles with open minds who are looking for love where they couldn’t before. Amish Mennonites and non-Amish alike are welcome on this niche dating site and are encouraged to join. For those looking to date both within and without the Amish community, there’s no better place to start.
