Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- In an effort to promote careers in manufacturing and change the perception of the industry, Pro Staff and Ware Technology Services have partnered with Dream It. Do It. Minnesota, one of 33 states that are part of The Manufacturing Institute’s national career recruitment strategy. Pro Staff and Ware Technology Services, staffing firms within Atterro Human Capital Group, specialize in staffing and recruitment for the administrative, light industrial and engineering fields. They work with employers across the country to place talent in a number of industries, including manufacturing – especially as baby boomers retire and the need for skilled labor increases.
Demand for manufacturing jobs – including engineering managers, welders, sales people, production managers and machinists – is high. It’s estimated that Minnesota manufacturers have between 5,000 and 10,000 positions that currently need to be filled. Pro Staff and Ware Technology Services have formed a partnership with Dream It. Do It. Minnesota to help spread the word and spark interest within the industry.
“Manufacturing offers a variety of great, high-paying careers, yet manufacturers are struggling to consistently find qualified workers,” said Jody Christiansen, VP of Pro Staff-Minnesota. “Dream It. Do It. Minnesota’s efforts align with our mission to continuously attract motivated people for our clients and promising opportunities for our talent.”
One way that Pro Staff and Ware Technology Services are working with Dream It. Do It. Minnesota is by sponsoring their upcoming Statewide Tour of Manufacturing. This October, manufacturers from across the state will open their doors to offer tours for students and professionals looking to make a career change.
“We know that manufacturing provides a number of exciting career opportunities. Yet many people, especially the younger generation, are misinformed about everything it has to offer,” says Christiansen. “The Statewide Tour of Manufacturing provides a great opportunity to dispel outdated myths and change the perception of manufacturing.”
During the tours, manufacturers will tell their company story, share career opportunities, and demonstrate what modern manufacturing looks like. Last year’s event drew 85 manufacturers and an estimated 6,630 visitors.
“We’re excited about our partnership with Pro Staff and Ware Technology Services to drive awareness for the opportunities in manufacturing,” says Jaimee Meyer, executive director at Dream It. Do It. Minnesota. “We appreciate their support in promoting the upcoming Statewide Tour of Manufacturing and look forward to continuing to work with them to attract the next generation of workers to this high-tech, thriving industry.”
