Announcement: GuitarControl.com releases “Easy Blues Guitar Lesson on Shuffle Rhythm”
(PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- “One of the most essential things in blues guitar is the blues shuffle riff”, says Johnson. Claude demonstrates a basic shuffle pattern as follows; 5th fret of the 6th string with first finger and 7th fret of the 5th string with 3rd finger, played twice as 1/8th notes, followed by 9th fret of the 5th string with 4th finger, played twice as 1/8th notes, and alternating between the 7th and 9th frets. Claude explains that in the key of A this is the one chord and continues the progression by moving to the four chord by simply moving the riff up two and one half steps to the 10th fret or to the same frets as originally played but based on the 5th and 4th strings. Next Johnson demonstrates that for the five chord you play the same riff but starting on the 7th fret and played on the 5th and 4th strings. The sequence of the 12 bar progression is as follows; four bars of the one chord, two bars of the four chord, two bars of the one chord, one bar of the five chord, one bar of the four chord and then either two bars of the one chord or a turnaround, which Claude says he will cover in a future lesson.
