Announcing Book Club in Tuscany: Read the Books. Visit the Places.
Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 08, 2016 -- Book Club in Tuscany is a guided tour that gives readers the opportunity to visit the places where some of their favorite characters lived, loved and learned. The trip is scheduled from June 4-11, 2016.
The basic idea of the week is this: Guests are given a list of books to read beforehand -- books set in Tuscan locations or detailing the lives of famous Italians. Upon arrival in Tuscany, guests will move into an historic villa and spend the week visiting the different cities and settings featured in those books.
The villa is on a large estate just north of the walled city of Lucca. It has a private chapel, an infinity-edge swimming pool with views of the surrounding hills, and a garden in the back ideal for dining "al fresco."
Not only will guests travel to Florence, Chianti, Pisa and the Cinque Terre, they’ll tour ancient castles, have lunch at a farm that produces olive oil, and take cooking classes from an Italian chef.
“I’ve been organizing villa and farmhouse vacations in Tuscany since 1997,” says Suzanne Stavinoha, one of the tour organizers. “Before each trip, I’d choose a book that was set in Italy, then visit the locations where the story took place. It brought the story, settings and characters to life.”
Working with her Italian-based partner, Michela Ricciarelli, Stavinoha now has reinvented that experience for other book lovers.
