ARA Announces Release of the FiRST Sharing Service
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) September 30, 2013 -- First Responders using mobile devices now have powerful enhancements from ARA that enable users to share incident data during improvised explosive device (IED) and hazardous material (HAZMAT) incidents.
ARA’s update to the popular First Responder Support Tools (FiRST) application enhances organizations’ abilities to share incident data among FiRST users. Organizations can now subscribe to the FiRST Sharing Service to allow organizational members to share mobile FiRST incident data while in the field. Organizations can control user access and posting rights and share data with external systems like Virtual USA. FiRST users can post incident data to groups they belong to as well as get alerts to retrieve incident GIS data that others have posted. For a limited time, organizations can try the service for free using the coupon code: FREE.
FiRST capabilities include easy access to map-based improvised IED standoff distances and HAZMAT spill evacuation areas; Google Search access within the applications that provides a one-button display of nearby schools, hospitals and government facilities; access to current winds for hazmat planning; assessment of roads to determine optimal roadblocks; and GPS services to view user’s current location relative to incident areas.
More information about FiRST applications is available at http://www.firstsupporttools.com. Organizations can sign up for organizational accounts for FiRST through the ARA online store.
