Arkansas Based Band SwitchbacH Hitting the Big Time at Rocklahoma
(PRWEB) May 20, 2014 -- Stuttgart’s own hard rock band Switchbach will be sharing the stage with major acts like Kid Rock, Staind, Twisted Sister, Theory of a Deadman and Five Finger Death Punch over Memorial Day Weekend during the Rocklahoma Music Festival, located on the “Catch the Fever” fairgrounds in Pryor, Oklahoma.
“It feels overwhelming, like living in a dream. Like my dream is coming true, but still yet like a dream. It probably won’t seem like reality till after we finish our first song. The adrenaline rush will be very overwhelming, but that is what I like most about performing. It’s a dream I have had since I was 16 years old. Now it’s about to become reality,” Switchbach’s lead singer Curtis Yancey, of Stuttgart, said.
The band is set to perform at the eighth annual Rocklahoma Music Festival, which is billed as “America’s biggest Memorial Day Weekend Party,” at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 25, on the AXIS Entertainment stage.
“I can’t wait for Rocklahoma, I just love the stage,” Yancey said. “I know it’s going to be an overwhelming experience performing before such a large crowd. Our fans are excited for us, too. It finally looks like we have made it in the music business.”
Switchbach has only been performing for two years, but has developed a tight accomplished sound that has electrified fans through out the South, according to its management. The band’s musical influences include Metallica, Alice in Chains, Creed and Black Label Society.
Besides Yancey the group includes Chrisian Underwood, of Stuttgart, as lead guitarist, Jett Yancey, of Stuttgart, on drums and Pierce VR, of Arlington, Texas on bass.
The group’s management, Hutch Entertainment, of Memphis, submitted the group’s work to AXIS Entertainment and the band was chosen out of several hundred entries.
The first album titled “The Beginning of the End” was released in November 2013. It is available for download through iTunes and by visiting the band’s website, http://www.switchbach.com. Songs from the album that have received radio air time include “Rise Again,” “Surrender” and “No Sooner Born.”
“We are confirmed for eight more major music festivals, which goes into 2015 and then we are planning a tour throughout the UK. Fans can expect our festival dates to be announced very soon as well as U.S. tour dates,” Yancey said.
