Los Angeles (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- AskMen (http://www.askmen.com) – the world’s leading men’s lifestyle destination, has announced the results of its annual Great Male Survey.
Now in its seventh year, the Great Male Survey is the largest and most comprehensive of its kind, with more than 20,000 men having their say about the biggest issues that affect their lives. Over 140 questions were asked across dating, sex, technology, politics, lifestyle and more.
Dating & Sex
Alongside shocking statistics like 50% of males would consider dumping their partner if she put on weight and 86% would be prepared to lie to them – it’s a comfort to hear that 40% of males still believe a sense of loyalty is the most important personality trait in their other half. Surprisingly, 95% still see marriage as a life goal – with 92% stating they believe in the institution of marriage.
Approximately 71% of guys readily admit they have fantasized about their partner’s friends and 70% admit to regularly watching porn when in a relationship. Confident in the bedroom, 86% of US males surveyed believed they can find the G-Spot and 79% say they know when their loved one is faking an orgasm. When it came to faking orgasms themselves, 35% of guys admitted doing it at least once.
Politics
Incredibly, 78% are disappointed, or not satisfied with the performance of our President, Barack Obama. The Russian Premier, Vladimir Putin was named the world’s manliest politician with 41% of the vote. Technology
The computer (51%) is the most popular gadget that men couldn’t live without, while 34% see ‘self-driving’ cars as the most exciting technological innovation on the horizon. Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy S4 smartphone is considered the smartphone for trendsetters among American men (40%) – ahead of Apple’s iPhone 5 with 27%. Apple’s troubles continue with 76% agreeing the future for the company is either dark or uncertain.
Celebrity
The Hunger Games star, Jennifer Lawrence is the celebrity that 32% of men want their partner to be more like, while guys believe that Ryan Gosling would be their ultimate wingman for nights out, taking 42% of the vote.
Fashion
When it comes to clothing, Italian men are considered most stylish (51%). US men love to express their personality through fashion, as 36% choose vintage spectacle frames to stand out in a crowd. More than half (52%) believe that buying a bespoke suit is the fashion experience men should have once in their life.
Lifestyle
In 2013, 52% of American men still believe in God and their biggest anxiety stems from their personal finances (33%). The principles of privacy continue to erode with 49% confessing to reading their partner’s email or social media profile, while 43% say they have snooped on a colleague, looking through their desk or reading their emails.
James Bassil, Publisher, AskMen, said:
“Every year, the Great Male Survey delivers an updated, comprehensive picture of the young American guy – and every year we discover something shocking or surprising in the results. In 2013, men have remained traditional in many ways. But there’s definitely been a shift in our attitudes towards privacy, particularly in regards to our snooping on both colleagues and partners.”
